I got fiat spyder123 abrath 2017
Car has 130000 miles on it and one of the head gasket blew up. It is is gonna cost me more that I paid for the car.
But other than that chassis, suspension, rotors and other components of car are fine I was thinking of doing the engine swap
I was thinking of v8 I found a good deal from wreck. Mustang v8 cayote, the car was damaged from back but the engine and tranny survived I am getting both for $4000 and the engine and tranny has 50000miles
So u think I should do it and the labor is free I am gonna be doing ar my friend garage and he is a professional mechanic And gonna help me and I didnot told him about the idea yet
So what should I do
Trash the car or give it new life with v8?
I think you should talk to your friend about it first
Wasn’t this a salvage titled toy, that was supposed to be gifted to your ex, in the first place?
Maybe now is the perfect time to wrap it up with a huge red ribbon & have it shipped to her address.
Even better payback, she is a fan of audi and Mercedes in short she was a gold digger I was at my friend mechanic shop there was a guy with audi a7 2014
His car had electrical problem and he was so fed up and was ready to sell the car
I bought it for $6000 grand I know sound cheap but guess what he also got it used
So I bought the car and made it work only spend additional 1 grand and give to my ex and call it even
And fun fact car broke down again its garage and it gon a cost $3000 to repair ik it's cruel but after that love and hate relationship she deserved it
And she cannot sue me coze I give the keys in court and my lawyer made her signed the contract that we are even now and I own her nothing if something happen to car she is responsible

Coyote swap isn't happening for a few reasons:
1. 3rd Gen Coyote motors are junk brand new. 1st and 2nd Gen are ok, but still have problems.
2. You would have to swap so many parts out it would become cost-prohibitive. You can't just drop a motor in the car and call it good.
3. The car is too small for that engine. If you want to keep it, go back in with a stock motor.
I’d do some homework in the Miata forums first. I imagine someone has tried it. My guess is that the electrical and other connections will be incompatible and mitigating that will take a SEMA-like fabrication budget. I also suspect the weight of that engine will play heck with the handling of the car.
unless money is no object, I’d replace the motor with same.
With enough time, money, custom fabrication - and enough beer - you can put just about any engine into anything.

If you wanted to juice it up & make a toy out of it, im all for it. But id consider a different engine. Coyote engines and their parts are expensive. That little car cant handle the power, and it'll throw off its handling dramatically. Id keep it as a 4 cylinder, personally. You can get V8 power out of a 4 banger with a turbo easily, and the fitment of a 4 cylinder in that car will be a 1000x easier than a V8.
