Love the videos! I have a 2.4 L 2015 Honda CRV EX with 63,000 miles in Omaha Nebraska. Every time I get the oil changed the dealership (they have the cheapest price with coupon) tells me the car is going to brake down real soon unless I do the following and pay them a small fortune. I have only changed oil and rotated tires when the minder on the dash tells me to. I put the "recommended" repairs with mileage and cost. I've heard a change is better than a flush. When do I really need to do these things and would a garage be less expensive?
Coolant Service-45K-$140
Differential Service-30K-$100
Oil Leak-$145 (I don't see anything)
Brake Fluid Service-30K-$120
Transmission Service-30K-$110
I know they aren't making money selling cars right now since they literally have one but this seems a bit steep and trying to scare people doesn't make good sense. They frightened a little old lady next to me into spending $50 for a cabin filter or her car wouldn't make it down the block.😤
You should read the owner's manual to find out how to operate and maintain your Honda. That's what they're for.
Coolant Service-45K-$140
after 6 years, yes I would change it. Fresh coolant keep metal parts from corroding. Corrosion happens whether you're driving or not.
Differential Service-30K-$100
I would have done it at 60k
Oil Leak-$145 (I don't see anything)
Don't tell us. Tell them. Ask them to point it out to you. They must have at least described WHAT is leaking on your report, no?
Brake Fluid Service-30K-$120
30k is overkill, but now is a good time.
Transmission Service-30K-$110
I would say you're overdue
All of the above (except the oil leak) intervals will be mentioned in your owner’s manual.
If you’re not losing massive amounts of oil, and you can’t see any visible leaks, I’d call the dealer’s bluff and ask them to show you the actual leak.
Even if there is indeed a leak, check to see what’s actually leaking as it’s odd for a 6 yr old K24 to start leaking oil already.
The dealer is crooked for sure. The only thing I would do, is maybe change the tranny fluid. If you can find an honest mechanic to do it. As far as an oil leak, the only place I would think of if it does leak is the valve cover gasket. Although with that mileage I would doubt it. You can check that yourself by taking off the cover over the injectors and look to see if there is any oil coming out. If there is you need to fix that, because the injector holes are right there below the valve cover and you don't want oil seeping in. Also the vtec solenoid can leak its bolted behind the valve cover on the left hand side of the motor. But like I said with that mileage I would doubt it.
As for coolant I change mine every 60,000
Nope thats B.S a oil leak with 63,000 I never heard an toyota leak oil. out of nowhere. if that was a 06 maxima thare you go you already have a problem 🤣 if its leaking oil those dealers didnt put the oil filter on right or they didnt tignten the drain plug. thats alot to service at that low mileage.
This question is about a Honda..?
correct whats the problem?
why are you talking about Toyota?
Im not i just think that the dealer is full of crap about the oil thing. I have no hate with toyota. I was saying i would of expected a oil leak from a nissan maxima. not a toyta. sorry if i made you upset. im just confuzed about whats wrong.
yes, you are very confused
scratch every thing else. start from the top and tell me the problem
im becoming confused.
what im trying to say is. why would an toyota leak oil. at that tiny amout of milage. i hear and see 06 nissan maxima leak oil all the time. if you own a ,maxima you have a problem, over all im saying the dealer is trying to screw him over. but it would be a diffret story for a nissan maxima
ima try to keep the profananit in, .. 2015 Honda CRV
we don't want your profananit (whatever that is)
I give up you win
