I was just curious if i ever wanted to swap out the engine in my 08' Suburban am i limited on what type of other v8 engine i can put in there? For instance a 6.2L or 5.7 hemi from another Truck or Suv of some sort? Would i have to swap the Transmission as well to accomodate for the engines power?

There are various swaps you can do but they are a pain in the ass. Just realized you need to change computer software wiring swapping out engines is not something that's easily done at any modern vehicle if you change the factory settings

Thank you.

I would stick with a Chevy LS-based motor. You start swapping different brand engines in, you're going to spend a fortune. They are difficult to do and not worth the effort.

The best bet is to just replace it with what's there. It's a Suburban. Heavy and slow are in its nature.
