EV vs ICE for occasionally-used car?

I'm retired and drive approx. 100 miles per month. Sometimes my car sits for a week or more between trips which are normally short (<5 miles). Would an EV hold up better under these circumstances? I could get a much older model with reduced range. My '07 Acura TL only has 140k miles, so I probably won't have to make this decision any time soon, or maybe never!

I would maybe go with a plug-in hybrid, that way when you're not going to be driving enough to fully warm up the engine, you can use the EV feature. Then, in the off chance that you go on a long trip, you have the ability to pump gas in only a few minutes - something you can't do with a pure EV.

Most people think EVs are money pits. Even if I was a multi-millionaire I would resent spending the money that is required to have an EV, repair it, or face the problems of its short and long term ownership.

But economics aside, think of the practicality? Scotty Kilmer is often talking about how they get depleted in the winter. There's all kinds of horror stories about replacing batteries. Your average mechanic doesn't want to touch them. Even of you do short journeys, what if the EV stranded you?. Stuff like that.
