FEB: Front Radar Obstructed" warning in Altima 2016 rebuilt

Hello Scotty,

I have a Nissan Altima SL 2016 with 76k miles that we bought 4 years ago with only 2000 initial mileage. It is a rebuilt car that the damage was on the front side of the car. It works fine but every now and then, after driving for about half an hour or so, the FEB (Front Radar Obstruction) warning light warning comes on and the cruise control is disabled (especially while driving in town). What could be the reason? I took it to the dealer and they said that we need to replace the radar and its bracket with about $2500 cost! Do you think the damage is caused by lack of proper rebuilt and balancing or the radar? If the radar is bad, why it is not throwing the error just from the beginning. In high ways, most of the time this error wont show up or it comes way later than in town driving.

Thanks

Ali

That's one of the problem with "rebuilt" cars, they rarely if ever get the complex electronics right.

Just ignore/live with it.

Highway doesn’t have as many large structures depending on the angle at which it’s seeing.. if the car was in an accident in the front any trauma at all should be cause for icc sensor replacement and if the code is for off center is being triggered you want to replace the bracket as well because the sensor is only adjustable up and down not side to side.. so as said you could just live with it or if it bugs you that much then open your wallet that sensor alone is over 1000 bucks
