Hello everybody! this is the first time I submit a question to this forum. I own a 1997 Fiat Palio 1.6 16 valve, pretty noisy, with 260.000 kilometers (161.000 miles).
I would like to know which oil to choose, as it always used mineral oil and now it is running with 20w50 but I know that it is not suitable for a multivalve engine. Do you think a mineral 15w40 would make it run smoother? consequences? it consumes a bit of oil and smokes from de oil stick receptacle.

Check the owner manual (or engine oil cap) to see what type of oil you should use and stick to it.
