Fluid extractor for transmission fluid change?

Hi Scotty,

I have a 2012 Toyota RAV4 V6 4WD with the 5 speed automatic. I'm needing to doa transmission service (120k miles) and am wondering if I can do so with my new 9 liter manual fluid extractor. I know I can't get all the fluid out at 1 time but will take 3-4 to get it mostly all clean. Do you see any issues from doing it this way?

Thanks,

If it has a drain plug, just use that. Draining the fluid with the plug will get rid of any crud that is at the bottom of the pan, using an extractor won’t get everything out.

And it's pretty hard trying to get the filter installed through the extractor ;  )

Extractors work well on some cars, not others, simple reason being placement/depth of dipstick tube and location in the pan. Not a fan and don't use them anymore. I don't replace any fluid that has a filter without putting in a new filter too these days as the engines like stuff super clean.
