Got a 2014 Subaru Forester with fogged up headlights. I know a lot of people use toothpaste but was wondering if there’s any other method that will work just as well or even better?

I took Scotty's advise and purchased a $7 jar of Mother's Chrom and Mag wheel cleaner. I wiped on and wiped off! Big improvement. I had tried toothpaste and a sink scrubber named Bar Keeper's Friend and they didn't work as fast as Mother's.

are they actually fogged with moisture/condensation?
Or are they faded/scratched/hazy?
