Should I buy a 2013 Dodge Dart with 64K miles for $10,999?

Hey Scotty, I love your videos man! My name is Anthony I live in Co-Op City in the Bronx NY, and I’m trying to find my first car. I saw a blue 2013 Dodge Dart that looks so nice inside and out with no issues and 64K miles for only $11K. Is this a good deal, and should I finance it or pay the car in cash? Or should I get a Honda Civic hatchback?

Look it's a re-badgered Alfa Romeo Giulietta. It's just not a good car.

The engines are meh, the transmissions are meh, the electronics are meh, everything's "meh".

If it would've been 1/3 the price, it could have been an interesting toy - but at $11k??? Avoid!

Or should I get a Honda Civic hatchback?

If depends, the only good Honda Civic hatchback was the 9th generation , built in the UK only for Europe.

The 10th generation available in the US has a crappy engine and mostly only weaker CVTs.

If you want a fun riding hatchback: Toyota/Scion iM/Corolla manual, or any 3rd gen Mazda3 non-trubo.

Spoiler
(S-market Hatchbacks don't really offer practicality, the Scion iM in a euro hatch and look at that boot)

Scion iM:

Toyota Auris Estate Hatchback: (what the Scion iM is based on)

The most popular Auris hatch version on euro markets - you can see why US market hatches are a bit of a joke.

Something like these would be the only Dodge Darts that would be worth considering:

Much has been talked about on this forum with respect to the Dodge Darts.  In short, stay away from them!

Depends on how much you want to spend, but if you are willing/able to buy new the 2022 Civic hatchback sport trim offers a manual version too which doesn't have turbocharge either.
