I’m thinking about getting a brand new V8 Mustang in a few years. How long can I expect the 5.0L V8 engine to last if I drive it conservatively/not hard/like a grandma?

The coyote motors are built to be beat on. Should last you a while.

About 6 months.

At least, that's how long my 2019 F-150 lasted with the stupid 5.0L Coyote crap. Had to sue Ford and spend a year before beating them in court.

I have owned Mustangs all my life. More than 30, with 2 Coyotes...an '18 and a '19. Both had engine problems, both made dealer visits constantly, and both ate oil. Google "Mustang 5.0L Engine Problems." Ford 'quality' is a joke and I would advise you save your money.

They started doing plasma liners in the motors in '18 and that was the fatal flaw. Some quick research yields:

GT350's as well:

Ford says using a quart every 5k miles on a new 5.0L motor is "normal". B.S.

But it's your money.
