Are the Ford E-450 v10 6.8L engines reliable. Particularly 1997 with 71K miles on it. Its an RV I am considering.
From my experience with the 6.8 V10 I have a 2002 Excursion and it has been fantastic and near trouble free besides little stuff here and there throughout its 254,000 mile life and its still going strong. Defiantly change the plugs and wires though. Should be a great motor.

Burial Iowa but of course that is also very old so hit the mechanic check it out before you buy and generally those old RV sits so long often they become endless money pits from age

They are good motors. Just do as Scotty said and get it checked out because it has likely been sitting with that mileage.

From what I have heard around here, they are good engines.
That is a great motor to have sitting around anyways. I would get it as long as a mechanic says it looks great.
