Hello scotty. Unfortunately i bought a ford focus 2014 with the robotic automatic transmission two years ago . I got 112000 kilometers now it still shifts but when im going up hill the car shakes a lot. What could it be? And is it worth fixing.
Another thing is since I am not going to get much if i sell the car is it a good idea to turn the car to a manual transmission?
Thank you!
You will spend more than it’s worth to convert it. Have you ever had the trans serviced?
Have you verified if it’s the transmission or if it’s something else like lack of fuel pressure?
Take the car to a transmission pro.
You can also have the fluid in the pan replaced. While the pan is off see what’s in it before it’s cleaned, debris, metal shavings etc.. if it’s pretty clean then it could be solenoids or some sensor in the tranny. If filter is dirty and you have alot of debris in the pan then your looking at needing a transmission maybe. Put in a new filter, clean the pan and replace the fluid that was in the pan. See if it’s any better. Sometimes a clogged filter can cause carnage. Don’t flush the tranny.
Thank you . I'll try that
The previous owner took it to the recall by ford. As im concerned they have only changed the software.
2.how can i verify if it is the transmission or not?
Thank you
Replace your fuel filter (if equipped) & pressure test your fuel pump. Have you already scanned for any codes?
Yes the aren't any trouble codes.
