I’ve got a chance to get a Ford Ranger in really good mechanical and cosmetic condition with 200,000 miles on it for free trading my old bass boat for it. It has the 3.0 V6 and my friend who was a mechanic says to stay far away from them. Do you agree?

Well they're not terrible engines. But with 200,000 mi the only way you could tell would be to have a mechanic do a wet and dry compression test of the engine to see what kind of shape it's in now

I've never had any personal experience with them but from what I understand some people love them and some people hate them and I've seen them with over 300,000 miles
