Hey! I'm wondering about the 5.4 V8 by Ford from the 2010 Era. I know most everyone likes the 5.0 but I don't hear a lot about the 5.4 good or bad. What are your thoughts?
Those last gen 3valve 5.4 v8s are headaches my man. A simple google of the Ford 3v 5.4 ticknof death will tell all that is needed. Earlier gens of the 2v 5.4 v8 were not bad motors.
Also the exhaust manifold bolts will rot and break off leaving half a stud in the block. The manifolds rot fast. Crank rods are bad, lifters are noisy as hell, cam phasers, etc are nightmares. Its also gutless.

My girlfriends dad has a 97 5.4 and its over 300k now and running strong. Never had much work done on it. Newer ones I've heard issues on though.
