A few days ago, I test drove a 2008 pontiac g6 3.5l v6 that has 36k miles on it. It comes with a four speed automatic transmission, and while test driving it, I noticed that the revs were higher than on other cars i’ve driven. Is this just because of the bigger differences between gear ratios? This question is coming from someone who daily drove a eight speed AT for the last six months.
What do you mean higher? At idle? If they seem higher while driving, it's probably because it has a different gear ratio than what you're used to.
yup while driving. everything else seem perfect just not used the different revs, thank you!
That's normal.
As long as it's not slipping you should be OK. Check the transmission fluid to see that it's not burnt or gritty.
