Hello there i am reaching out for my friend who is having an issue with his 2024 Subaru Ascent.
He noticed a squealing noise coming from the brakes within 1200 miles and within 1 month of ownership.

this happens only when he is trying to slow down. i told him they probably put cheap rotors and pads on it.
He says it doesn't sound like metal on metal. Regardless, the noise is LOUD according to him.
When he took it back to  the dealership, they "greased" it. Problem went away....for only like 8 miles of driving, then came right BACK.

he took it back to them, they took the car to examine and  gave him a rental.
1 week later they had NO results. and that they were waiting for Subaru's field engineer to arrive and begin testing and film videos.
ANOTHER week later , videos were filmed, and still no answer from the field engineer, they said they are going to be sending out a "brake Evaluation kit" that consists of Pads, Rotors, calipers and tie rods. its the third week now btw.
He was told that this is not a safety problem but a nuisance issue only. he was also informed it could be a problem with Many of the 2024 Ascents.

HE IS PISSED. to put it gently. nearly 3 weeks now without the vehicle, and still no explanation.

id like some of your more experienced thoughts on this, what do you think the problem is, are they handling this properly? What would you do?
