Frontier gage cluster "clicking"

Scotty THANK YOU for sharing all your knowledge.  My question is for my 2007 Nissan Frontier NISMO, 4.0L, 6 speed manual, 4x4, 185K, owned since new.  Occasionally (maybe once every 3-4 months) upon shut down my gage cluster will start making a clicking noise and the gage needles will swing wildly across the range of the gage.  This will last approximately 30 seconds.  I have never had any issue related to this of any sort.  I am just curious as to why it might do this, I assume it might be logging data in some form.  Have you ever heard of this?

This is usually an electrical issue of some sort. If it isn't causing any problems I wouldn't worry about it. Finding out exactly where the short is would not be worth the effort.
