I have a 2011 Toyota Highlander with 80,000 Km’s I have noticed when filling up with fuel On Vancouver Island that my fuel burn can increase a lot sometimes when on a HWY drive. Can fuel stations actually have better produced fuel at times. This doesn’t happen very often, I know a little that winter fuel has better start up mixture than summer? Or is my fuel sensor acting up? This winter my fuel burn is not good I’m getting 15/100 and that’s Hwy driving, town driving has never been spectacular.
When was the last time you had your vehicle fully serviced/tuned up? Are all your tyres at the correct cold tyre pressure?
Excessive fuel burn can be caused by a lot of things. I’d just recommend you to go to a mechanics and just tune up the car, check your spark plugs, your fuel filter and so on…
From my experience, when a fuel station has bad fuel that something you’d feel it pretty much immediately by your engine running poorly.
also maybe plug in a scan tool and look for odd data…
