hi there. I am trying to replace my fuel filter. it has electronics connected to it but I have read to disconnect the fuel fuse prior to starting the disassembly and am having difficulty locating it. I have looked under the hood in the fuse and relay locations found nothing with fuel in the name, in the passenger side fuse box same story however I have found some comments about taking off a compartment under the steering wheel but am skeptical to pry it open. I'm wondering if you know where the location of the fuel fuse is on a nissan pathfinder 2007? so that I can disconnect it, disconnect the negative on the battery, and then disconnect the hoses attached to the filter and replace the fuel filter itself. The reason for the replacement is the ETC is disengaging mid drive and recently when trying to turn on, blew black smoke, but then started up again no worries without any smoke until the ET disengaged again. There are no check engine lights on and no codes coming up on the OBD2. The cache can in the engine bay has been emptied so as to be ruled out, so trouble shooting leaves 1. fuel filter 2. injectors or 3. fuel regulator. You have already shown how to do 2. and 3. with your videos.
What the heck just disconnect the battery terminals that shuts power off. And pray that fixes it knowing those cars that can often be a computer or wiring failure
There shouldn’t be any serviceable fuel filter in that vehicle and the fuse is in the ipdm in the rearward fuse panel on the passenger side under the hood. You would have to slide the ipdm up and out of the box in order to access it
