Hey Scotty!!
I’ve been watching since you first started your channel on YouTube, love the content and honesty, keep up the great work!!
I’m at a bit of a crossroads here. I have a 2020 Genesis G70 with the 3.3t Lambda II engine with 32,000 miles. Really curious about the reliability in the future, and have the ability to sell if needed.
Was thinking about trading in for a 2014/2016 Toyota Corolla with the 1.8 2ZR-FE/FAE with a manual transmission to keep the fun factor around.
Thoughts??
Just get the corolla it'll last for decades

Genesis is made by Kia/Hyundai. Their engines tend to burn lots of oil because they didn't make the piston rings correctly, and dealerships won't do anything about it unless it burns more than one quart per 1k miles. I have a 1999 Ranger and it leaks a quart of oil every 5,000 miles -there's 292k miles on it. When the oil gets down to "Min", I change it. That's uncalled for, to me at least.
Agreed. So far the G70 hasn’t given me any issues at all. But again, it’s at 32,000 miles.
I love the car, just don’t love the idea after it hits 100,000 miles I’ll be stuck with thousands of dollars in repair costs. I’m the long term type of owner, and have two other 90s Japanese cars I’ve had for over 10 years with no problems.
Yeah, they get you because they're still relatively new to the US market, and it's a South Korean make. I've heard the fitting is excellent, but it's still a Hyundai/Kia underneath it all.
