Camry P0430

Last August I bought a 2003 Toyota Camry XIE 3.0 V6. My car has 119,000 miles on it. It's a nice looking car and runs great. However, it had a check engine light that read PO 430 which is a bad catalyst bank 2. Anyways, back then I changed the plugs, coils, and O2 sensors but the light stayed on. So I ended up replacing the catalyst, which fixed the check engine light, keep in mind it was an after market catalyst. Three months later, the same code came back so I tried to get the cat warranted. They said they don't believe the cat is bad and that I need to get a full diagnosis. I took it to a mechanic and he hooked up his computer but after he finished he said "I don't know what the numbers are supposed to be." LOL so that was a waste of $70. I then took it to a dealer and they said it would cost a fortune to figure out why I have a PO 430. I just can't afford to keep going to these mechanics and wasting money when they can't fix my problem. Here in Kentucky, we don't have mechanics like you. So could you please check my car out and do your magic? I would pay you no matter what of course because you're the best and I trust you. I can't stand the check engine light and all the mechanics just want to replace the catalyst instead of figuring out what is really wrong with it. If you tell me it needs a new cat after checking everything then I would get another one. I just don't have the money to waste with the wrong problems, I only make $12/hr at my job. Could you please help me save my Toyota? No one around here knows that they're doing. I'd be willing to take off work and come to you anytime. You never know, might make for a good video.

Thank you and please help me if you can,

Have someone look for a leaking fuel injector.

contacting Scotty is item #4 in the Frequently Asked Questions.

Very bad idea to post personal contact info in a public forum. No legit person will call and you're opening yourself up to scammers.

It boils down to whether the catalytic converter is really bad or whether it's just the downstream O2 sensor. If you're close enough to Clarksville, TN to make it feasible to drive down there for Scotty to check it out, send email to scottykilmer at gmail dot com with something like "APPOINTMENT REQUEST" in the subject line.
