Dear Scotty, I would love some advice. My family is in need of a new car. I live about a mile and a half down a gravel road. Between monster pot holes, snow, and mud most cars and SUV get eaten alive and cannot handle the regular abuse. (My other car is a f-250) I want a good four wheel or AWD drive suv that can handle rugged abuse. Jeeps come to mind but I and scared of Chrysler products. Four runners are expensive unless they have a ton of miles. I want to stay away from things like a Tahoe or an Expedition. Do you have any advice?

Get a good old Toyota 4Runner.

Either a used Sequoia (not the new ones with turbo engines), Land Cruiser if you can find one good price, 4Runner new or used.
