Hi Scotty, 2003 mercury grand marquis 182k miles,P0108 trouble code. I recently changed the crankcase breather hose and for two days the startup was fine but now even if i prime the fuel pump, and hold the key in ignition for a couple seconds when starting, the engine trembles but stays running and runs normal, cold or warm starts are hard. And if i dont hold ignition, engine misfires and stalls. Sprk plugs and coils are oem and brand spank new so i am lost as to what can be the problem. My last resort that I’m going to do is clean the IAC valve and hope it helps. Pleasehelp, i started Doordash and while alone i have no choice but to constantly start and shut off the engine and lock my car, i dont want to end up burning up my starter either. Thanks. Also no vacuum leaks and brand new pcv valve installed as well.
Make sure you check the fuel filter. It may be clogged. Easy to do on those cars and won't cost you anything as you can DIY.

Update: thanks to the help of my friend, i changed the fuel filter, used a duralast model as motorcraft wasnt in stock at any autozone within a 25 mile distance, and the trembling went away, starts up perfectly in a second, and the throttle response is a lot more noticeably quicker. Big thanks to modman, u were right. It had the original filter and the fuel that spilled out of the filter was very dark, and the new filter was very clear. All fixed. Thanks again modman 😍
