hello mr.scotty 😀

i have 2015 yaris sedan 1.3 automatic4gears

(asian , not rebadged mazda)

with 220k km .. or 135k mile...

my car heated a bit yesterday

heat light was "flashing ON/OFF/ON/OFF..."

& PC stopped working(safety feature when heated?)

so i turned off PC & drove home

next day i started the car

when i opened the CAP .. there was slight pressure

or few water bustout

checked water(toyota coolent water) in engine & its side bottle

there were full & at mark...

water didnt have oil in it

also when it heated again(only when not moving & AC ON)

i check coolent pipe pressure & it had it...

i opened AC at MAX & i see the fan spins

its a 1fan with 2x speeds "low & high"

im not sure if the "high spin"  is "THAT high"

or if its from the thermostat

oil is clean & not low...

valve sounds are a bite high cuz i once put cheap oil & drove more 2k mile on its recommandation

but no heat since then...

before this heat problem

i once rav it high chasing somebody

but not constantly high raving

only once or twice it reached 6000

i watched some of ur vids

have no tools to test

no honest mechanics here or knowledgable

& over seas from where u r...

will it break the car if i drove it like this? since it doesn't heat when im moving/raving?

& what might be the problem...

UPDATE:
i see the "2speed fan"
run on slow speed when AC fan run at 1
& run at 2nd speed(fast speed) when maxing AC fan to 4
& but when on 1
& it heats
the highspeed fan dont trigger...

is there different sensor
between:
1*highspeed cooling fan .. triggering with AC fan at speed4
&
2*highspeed cooling fan .. triggering when engine heats...
?

cuz i see it triggers the highspeed coolant with only the first option...
& which/where is that...
sry no mechanics around me to traceback
most of them just guess from there bags...

UPDATE: SOLVED

turned out the fan was weak
the engine sound covered the fan sound on its 2nd(high)speed

&
from the few video's i found on ur channel
they covered & NOT working fan
& not weak fans
so i was with the mind set of "either it works or broke .. no half working..."
therefore i dismised the idea of it gotten weakened over time (6~7years &or 135k mile or 200k~220k km)
but while i was on the parkinglot of a toyota dealer pricing all parts to change them all .. another yaris parked next to me & its fan(OEM) newly changed... was LOUD & fast... & we poped both car hoods & ya .. my fan system was working fine .. but it was WEAK...

anyways thx Mr.scotty
ur vidz & efforts helped me alot...<#

BTW
just to let ya know so you dont insult a "yaris" brand xD
the yaris in the:
USA is a mazda rebadged
but
the EU/asian:
are pure toyota desine & manufactured... assembaled around EU&asia...
& its very dependable everyday car specially here in jeddah where heat gets too hot .. toyotas are the only cars driving with AC ON with no problems...
& ya my ride might be tripping
fan burning & engine valv sound
but after some abuse
of adding(once) low quality oil & driving 2k mile mover the recommanded mile...
& like 1~3 times a week i sleep(4~7h) in the car while its running
& thats burning oil & yet & i dont count that on my oil change & change it every around 6k-mile or 10k-km...
& the only complain about it from the manufactury .. is how noisy it is .. but some sound assulation material would help with that .. even though i didnt bother...

thx again mista 😀

I’d fix it sooner than later before you damage your engine, past the point of no return -

If it had pressure even after setting a long time odds are the head gaskets blown do my video how to tell if your head gasket is blown Scotty

sry

i did the cold start up again while the cap is off

& there was no air or bobbles coming out of the cap

and no air pressure as will

maybe that air pressure i talked about was some water on the cap from the inside that splashed when removing the cap

& no oil/coollent mix...

however

i did watch ur vid on "fan"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUuK5t-9fiQ&list=PLvuzUntYShDW7ZoKr0-rsrm3vzG1gQC22&ab_channel=ScottyKilmer

my fan does run sometimes (not sure whats up)

& when heated .. i should've heard the loud fan sound .. trying to cool the car

but some times i dont hear it

i get mix sound between my fan sound & AC compressor sound

since the engine is quiet...

& based on that video

could it be the relay?

sry we are on holiday & michanics wont open till 3~5days from now...
