06 sentra 1.8l v4 automatic 53k miles
heat blasts but only comes out of defrost vents on all heat settings. fan speed works fine its just the output location

Well that's the default position. If there's a problem in the HVAC system. It will only blow out of the defrost. So check your controller on the dash that does modes. If it's not switching modes, sometimes that switch goes bad
