Hello, I have a 2006 Toyota Solara, 4 cylinder, 154K miles. Had a lot of work done, replaced thermostat, water pump, radiator cap, New head gasket, new intake manifold new m shop cyl head new valves guids and seals. Brought it to a mechanic who used to work for and loves Toyotas too.
Everything seemed great except when I use the heater it blows really, really, hot. It gets so hot, I worried the vents might melt! Seriously! I now have to keep the dial centered between the red lines and blue. Something is not right. I've owned the car for 15yrs. Told the mechanic the issue, he said no such thing, like really? Give me a break.
I couldn't find anything online except someone talking about their Honda and some window that opens and closes that allows so much heat in. I don't know. I feel something was not put back on after them disassembling my engine, intake man. Etc. Or something is stuck open and I'm getting serious engine heat..too too much🌡
Do you have any idea what would be causing this? Would appreciate your help.

As long as the temp gauge on your instrument panel is normal, then you don't need to worry. Just turn down your temperature setting.
