2002 Porsche Boxster P1128 & P1130 codes

Hi Scotty.

I have 2 dtc. Codes

That won't go away and I can't pass inspection

2002  Porsche boxster s

  • Tiptronic. Codes p1128 & p1130.

Used Innova scanner, said oxygen sensor.

It even dircted me to Amazon to purchase them I did and installed the. Ck engine light went out but still have these 2 dtc.. drove for 105 miles since erased codes..these 2 Codes popped up again. Im.readiness says catalyst still not ready..all others are...please help..

What brand of sensors did you get? Some are really junk, and you might have even gotten a bad one. Try and return it and look for an oem one.


Yes! This is actually an excellent point. Only OEM or Desno.
Chinese no-name sensors almost never function correctly!

Check MAF, MAP, Intake vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks, Fuel pressure, Fuel injectors operation.

check that your oxygen sensor voltage goes up and down using live data - it might be not the sensor but the wiring.

it’s quite a common fault on a Porsche and Audi products.

Consider selling the Porsche so that it’ll be someone else’s problem… it’s a nightmare when (not if) something more complex than a simple “too lean/rich” code happens…

In addition to cleaning the MAF, check for a good fit on your oil cap as well as all intake connections after the MAF.
