I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0 turbo w/ sport suspension. We all know what a low or broke power steering pump sounds like. My car starting making that noise and it fluctuates with the rpms of the engine. Come to find out this car has an electric power steering pump on the rack and pinion. I'm not a mechanic. (I'm just trying to give you accurate details). My question is what do you think this noise is? Do electric power steering pumps whine or growl? Master cylinder? I appreciate your time, thanks.
Do electric power steering pumps whine or growl?
Do you have an electrically driven pump or is it EPS (Electric Power Steering)? If the former the pump could make noise if wearing out. If it's the latter there is no pump.
Also, the noise could potentially be any belt-drive accessory, idler pulley, or even the belt itself if worn. Transmission whine would be another possibility.
Can you please make a YouTube video of the noise and post the link here?
