Hi Scotty I have a 08 Saturn Vue xe 2.4l ecotech vvc with 55k miles car ran great drove it across the country a few times a few weeks ago it started with a small random misfire it would only miss here and there at a stoplight sometimes a big hill now it's missing bad and I'm not working because of it first code was po300 then po302 changed spark plugs checked gap changed coil packs changed fuel injectors cleaned maf sensor deep cleaned by removal throttle body and nothing checked fuel pressure that was good then I just checked cylinder pressure that's good it will go a few minutes with no misfire and then it could start or it might go a hour without a problem when I use the ac it starts misfiring the traction control and abs light has been on a few years now I think it's irrelivent a wheel speed sensor maybe? Fresh oil change royal purple synthetic I'm not sure where to go next I feel like I've thrown a parts cannon at it and I don't want to be ripped off by a mechanic I don't know currently both codes have gone away with no pending codes I swapped coil pack two to three with hopes po303 would show but no codes yet after a few hundred miles of misfires I don't want to drive it because I don't want to break anything or damage internal parts please let me know what you think or what ideas you may have -nick
I also did a vacuum leak check with blowing vape smoke in and carb cleaner while running
New coil packs fixed the problem returned cheap ones to Amazon thanks
Do not buy important auto parts on Amazon. Many are just counterfeits.
+1 @doc Always buy OEM or very good quality parts when it comes to sensors/electronic components. Glad the coils fixed your issue.
Well many things can cause misfires but really you can get ignition coils cheap enough I would just go and replace all of the coils and see what happens. They break down with
First I'd like to say I love your videos and I'm really happy you replied I have already put new coils in that being said they are a 70$ set from Amazon
can one of you guys with the keys to this place mark this as [Solved]?
It's a good lesson for DIY guys that the cheapest parts aren't the way to go
Yes sir.
I was thinking about maybe having the ecm flashed when I was doing my compression test today I noticed corrosion on the top of my new plugs that I had forgot to put dielectric grease on them upon install so I cleaned them well and greased them misfires are still happening maybe the coil packs were too cheap and could be leaking arc?
