I bought a 2017 Mazda CX5 Grand Touring l, automatic, last year for $17k with about 22k miles on it from the Mazda dealers.
I love the car. Its about 42k miles now.
I have two issues 1st the infotainment touch screen goes crazy when car is ideal or slow touching all over the place, GPS, music player constantly touch screen presses. I dont want to go to dealer to upgrade it to android auto screen for $500. And I don't know if I can trust the screen I buy on Amazon, any suggestions.
Also less annoying is once a month (sometime 4-5 months) I smell either sweet gas or once metallic gas when idealling, but that goes away, I checked for leaks around the car but didn't notice anything, should I be worried?
Thank you so much for your youtube channel I've learned so much. Moved from NY so the Mazda is my 1st car.

I had a Subaru that had a wonky infotainment system problem so much even restoring to factory default wouldn’t fix it. A hard reset of turning the car off and waiting 15 minutes every time this happened was the only solution. Before you go out and spend a ton of money, try restoring the system to default. It might work or it might be a software bug. In that case the dealer might have a software update like my Subaru did.
The infotainment issue can be many things, like a software bug for example. I recommend to ask your second question as another thread so it can get more responses.
Thanks will do for both advise
Check if there is any software update available for the infotainment system, ik Mazda is not the best with their infotainment systems, although I have seen worse from Lexus, Honda, and other brands.
I'll try for an update, even though when I searched people who have similar issues , the updates did nothing. Maybe a wiring issue.
