Hey, Scotty, should I get rid of our minivan because of excessive rust.

We own a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan my parents want to keep it. The rust is excessive, rockers, doors, fenders, and trunk. So should we get rid of it, and if theirs any reasons to convince them. No Air Condition, and is it road legal.

Should we get rid of this, is it worth repairing the rust, is it safe also is it going to continue to be unsafe. {black}:scared:

If the rust is that bad the brake and fuel lines are likely to go next. If it's really severe the suspension attachment points could be compromised and if unibody frame rails are rotted the thing will just fold up in an accident. Repairing that kind of rust on an old minivan is not economically feasible. On the other hand if it's just cosmetic rust on outer body panels it may be OK for a while. It would be best to have the rust evaluated by a good independent mechanic.
