Hey Scotty what do you think of a 94 Chevy G20 with a 4.3?

It was a state van that sat in a garage for years, 47,000 miles on it.  Has A/C but no other options. Very clean, hard to find them with no rust in New York.  I bought it through an online surplus auction because I was in the garage a few times and had seen it sitting and recognized it.  It's my fifth G-van so I kind of know the ins and outs of them and don't mind working on them.  I do figure it will need new rubber, belts, hoses, tires etc.

As long as you don't mind spending money to bring it up to date they are decent vans.

When I went to get a replacement mirror I actually found a G30 cutaway at the pick-a-part with a small box body on the back that had the 4.3 in it.  Didn't think you could get something that big with a six. So maybe it won't be too bad to drive.  The others I had were 5.7 V8s. (still have to pick it up, waiting on getting plates which is a hassle because of the pandemic).

Part of why I decided to go back to one of these because the parts are cheap and they're easy to work on.  The 4WAL ABS unit is the only really big deal and you can plumb those out if you had to.  My first G30 had one that was non-functional and the rear lines didn't even run into it anymore.  Being a van I can carry a stash of parts enough to handle most common breakdowns, too.   But the TBI is simple and reliable, I've put hundreds of thousands of miles on TBI engines.

Plus even at what I paid it was about half the price of a decent comparable say 2003-2008 van.  Something happened in the last year or so to run the prices of vans up very high.

yeah, people living in them
