Hi my names Alex I have a 2014 Dodge Durango basic and I’m not to sure what’s wrong with my car the engine makes a ticking noise engine light goes on and off

Hi new member,
If you are referring to the check engine light, you will need an OBD reader. Your local auto parts store likely has one and will read the codes for you for free. If the check engine light comes on, there will likely be an error code that will give you a clue what the problem is.
The ticking could be a lot of things, though on a Durango, lifter tick is very common (do a web search and see if it is the same noise yours is making). Otherwise, see if you can record it and upload it here.
