Coach Baker, you put all your info in the title, and nobody else can read the part after "
here is what happened. NO SIGNS at all, zero! no slippage, no leaks, etc.... "
What did happen?
@glen_stet
sorry I'm new here, and learning as i go.
i had driven my car to work and was on my way back when i came to a four way stop- and when my turn to go- i hit the gas and no go! just revved up and no forward motion. i checked to see if in neutral. nope, tried D, 2, 1- to no avail.
had it towed home, found out it did work in reverse. but not the others.
2010 pontiac g six gt.
no signs of any slippage, none! put cpu on it and it threw a ECM failure code .
nothing else, I've heard the ECM-does control the transmission, but not sure. im a single father of 4 and this is our only ride. can't afford a new tranny and praying for a simple fix.
was running great until that stop sign. really was. no signs of anything. im baffled.
ty all for understanding I'm new here
If you have an ECM failure code, that could be the source of your problems. The Engine Control Module tells the transmission key info like what RPM the engine is running, what the throttle opening it, etc. that the transmission needs to know so it goes into the right gear.
Sounds like the transmission itself may have failed. I would suggest getting a mechanic to check it out to be sure of the problem, but that's usually what happens when the transmission gives up.
