Scotty,
Bought a 2008 Camry with new transmission last week. Car runs good and has 270,000 miles. Yesterday I was driving it and I got a check engine light and got a P0420 error code. I've seen several cheap fixes online but do not want to waste time and money as I am just out of high school. A new catalytic converter might run me about $2,000 and I was hoping you might be able to give advice on how to diagnose this code, I suspect it may be a faulty O2 sensor because of the low gas mileage, 17 combined per gallon when city is said to be about 19.
Thanks,
Josh
Well knowing cameras you either have the bad oxygen sensor or a bad catalytic converter I would advise changing both oxygen sensors first and pray it's not the expensive cat
