Hey Scotty I want to buy a 6cyl 2010 highlander it has a minor accident (Body). When I start the engine it sounds weird. I checked with my mechanic he said engine and transmission ok. But he said he didnt like the way engine sounds when he starts up. but he also said that it might be just because it is a 6 cyl. ($12k out the door price from a used car sale store in California)
It has potential problems + has an accident + its 10 years old...
and they want 12 grand for it?? I live in California as well no way would I pay more than $7000 for one and thats if there isn't a problem.
I say walk.
Also I found this out after researching for another Highlander thread, those cars are extremly commonly prone to VVT problems and oil leaks and other engine problems...
Compare the engine noise with another example, in your area. And yeah, bargain..
