Honda Accord AC broken after Car Wash

Topic starter

I took my 2008 through the car wash and water and soap started pouring through behind the glove box. Soaked the cabin air filter and the whole compartment back there. Since then the AC stopped working. (Turns on once every few days). I think it shorted a wire or something but I don’t know much about cars. Whenever the AC does kick on its cold and blows fine. But it just doesn’t ever kick on anymore. What could this issue be?

Most likely your cowl drains are blocked, causing them to back up into your cabin air intake. It would have destroyed your blower motor and possibly resistors.

It seems the fan works fine. It blows air fine. Just won’t kick on the A/C when I push the button. Light turns on but it doesn’t kick on

ok well there's also a blend door in the ducts which mixes the cold air. It's electrically controlled. It could be seized shut

Can a shop look at that? What should I tell them? Every time I take it to one they try to charge me a few hundred to look at the compressor and make sure its charged with freon. But I’m almost positive it’s an electrical issue.. or Atleast something abnormal

you can't tell people how to do their jobs. Either do it yourself, or find people who know what they're doing

Need to look at the compressor and see if the clutch is engaging. If not check the connections on the clutch and pressure sensors. There’s on inside the dash and one by the compressor. If you have an air compressor blow air all around inside blow out any remaining moisture to.
