Hello Scotty,
Honda City 2018 with 14000 km with L15Z1 SOHC engine: I do not drive a lot and change oil every 5000 km (Honda engine oil 2.0 0w20; GF6A oil still not available here.).
How should I maintain so that it lasts forever. I am not sure if it is a GDI engine.
Love from India.
Thanks
Pranab
Yea, it has direct fuel injection system. Just keep up with regular oil changes and you are fine.
Follow your owners manual intervals, don't stretch oil changes beyond 8.000km and transmission fluid change intervals beyond every 70.000km.
I recommend doing the best you can with maintaining it, modern cars (especially Hondas) value efficiency and performance over longevity so don't expect to get 3 4 500k miles out of it, I doubt you will but it should last a long time (maybe even close to that) if you take care of it and luck is on your side.
If you are looking for anything in particular, such as common problems or things to watch out for, you can ask that on a Honda City forum.
Many thanks Kerem, Indeed helpful advises. Yes, I understand oil is the key to longevity.
Yes, I am trying to find a good honda city forum.
While the Mexican version has GDI, I’m not sure if the Indian version has it.
For the maintenance schedule, just follow Honda’s recommended maintenance schedule in your owner’s manual or the Indian Honda website -

Good luck!
Many thanks for your suggestions
