Does my Honda CR-V with Earth Dream Engine have oil dilution problems?

Scotty, I recently bought a used 2016 Honda CR-V, 2.4L earth dream engine, automatic CVT 2WD transmission with 35,000 miles on it from a friend.  Unfortunately I bought it before I saw your video about the oil dilution problem. I did some research on-line about the issue and I am unclear as to which engine has the issue.  Some articles seem to indicate that only the 1.5L turbo charged engine has the issue.  Some articles seem to indicate that both have the issue.  I'm coming to you for a straight answer - does the Honda 2.4L earth dream engine have the oil dilution issue?

I bought this car for my wife, and plan to keep it for 10 - 15 years and/or put 300,000+ miles on it.  We typically put 50 miles on the vehicle a day.  I did an oil change right after we bought it.  I did not notice any gas in the oil, and the oil level was at the full mark.  Hopefully, we made a good choice.

Thanks for the help.

The 1.5T EarthDreams engine from Honda was the one that was notorious for oil dilution.

However, this forum has 2 instances where Accords with the 2.4L NA EarthDreams engine also suffered from oil dilution.

Since you haven’t noticed any signs of the issue in your CR-V, I wouldn’t worry about it. If there was an issue, it should have manifested itself in your vehicle, by now.

Here’s what’s Scotty has to say about this engine -

It’s the 1.5L turbocharged I4 (and to an extent even the 2.0L turbocharged I4) that are notorious for the oil dilution issues.  The 2.4L naturally aspirated I4 is less susceptible to it, and being out now for 5 years I haven’t heard any systematic oil dilution issues with that engine.  If you are even paranoid about, here’s some tips to mitigate the issue:
