2000 HONDA CRV AUTOMATIC 164K MILES, MECHANIC REPLACED ALTERNATOR, BELTS, NEW TYC BRAND WHILE FIXING AC. NOW I RANDOMLY GET ALTERNATOR LIGHT ON AND OFF. DOES NOT DO IT WITH HIGH FAN, HEADLIGHTS OR AC ON. VOLTAGE IS NORMALLY 14.2 AT CIGARETTE LIGHTER, LIGHT COMES ON BRIEFLY, VOLTAGE DROPS TO 12.4, LIGHT GOES OFF, STAYS AT 12.4 FOR AWHILE THEN BACK TO 14.2. NEVER SAW THE VOLTAGE ON MY LITTLE USB CHARGE IN THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER GO BELOW 13.7 FOR THE PAST 12 YEARS. BATTERY IS 86% AND CHARGING NORMAL, RIPPLE IS 95-100 ON THE KONNWEI SCANNER. MECHANIC IS PRETTY GOOD, SAYS THE ALTERNATOR IS BAD. SHOULD I PUT THE ORIGINAL ONE BACK IN OR TRY A REMAN DENSO? OR IS IS SOMETHING ELSE. ORIGINAL WAS GOOD, JUST BEING PROACTIVE.

check for bad connections.
engine ground strap
corroded or loose battery cables
fusible link, etc.
Both my mechanic and I checked the alternator connections, battery terminals, and I had previously cleaned all grounds, but sprayed them again with electronics cleaner. I have seen reviews for replacement alternators causing the same problem. Before we spend another 2 hours removing and replacing, I want to see if anyone else has had and fixed this problem
Please provide ALL relevant information and ALL the troubleshooting steps you performed first, so I'm not just wasting my time typing useless answers out for you.
Check the serpentine belt and tensioner for wear.
