[Solved] Honda misfires

Hi, I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey ex with one full tank away from having 200k miles. Have had it for the last 3 years, in which I have only put about 8k per year on it. The van sat for about 5 or 6 days and now has several codes and runs poorly at idle. The codes are P0300 variety except for a 1399 code. Where would you look first/do first to fix this puppy? Thank you

It was finally warm enough to fiddle with the Honda yesterday, apparently the connection on a different coil had come disconnected....one on the back side of the engine. Running fine now, codes have not come back(yet). Still curious as to the meaning of that 1399 code.....

P1399 is just another misfire code. It's Honda specific (starts with '1') instead of generic like P0300 (starts with '0'). See our FAQ for more info.

Or rats eating the wiring.

Might have been just from it sitting some of the fuel gummed up in the fuel line or something. Might try to clear the codes and see if it comes back. Could have been just a one time thing. If it still runs perfect that would be what I would do.

Otherwise, if the car is noticeably misfiring I would change the plugs and check it again.

I had a look at the plugs and they were absolutely fine. I did replace a faulty coil and it ran great, for one day, then it started running like crap again. What are the odds of more than one coil taking a dump at the same time?

Did you use a new OEM coil? Because I’ve had cheap/non genuine ignition coils go bad really quickly.
