Hi Scotty, I watch your videos alll the time though I just recently subscribed. I'm looking at a 2020 Honda Pilot 131 k miles. $14K. Good year? Any issues I should look for? Thanks, Ray

You can find out about any inherent problem with that model and year via a simple internet search. For example, it took about 5 seconds to find this and there is plenty more information out there:

Only a good mechanic thoroughly inspecting the vehicle before purchase can tell you if that particular one is any good.

Honda generally makes good cars, but ...

The 3.5 L J35Y6 V6 engine was prone to engine leaks, so look the engine over. Hopefully the previous owners kept the oil topped up. The leak can easily be fixed with a new gasket.  This engine also suffers from rapid camshafts wear. Regular maintenance is absolutely critical to this engine. It needs valve adjustment every 30k. There's also a belt that needs to changed every no more than 50-60k. If the belt breaks it's bye bye engine. The average engine life expectancy is around 200k.

Pilots were plagued with transmission problems for years. This one is no exception.

The top two killers of the pilot are transmission failure, and oil consumption. And this car is already in the danger zone miles-wise.

Given the number of miles, I would not even consider this car without detailed maintenance records. And especially not that price. They want waaaaay too much for a car with not that much life left in it.

Pesonally, I'd skip it. If you want a minivan, I recommend you look at Siennas. They are far more reliable.
