Is the 2021 Hyundai Ioniq better than the 2021 Toyota Prius XLE FWD? I just bought a 2021 Toyota Prius XLE FWD brand new and then I found out about the Hyundai Ioniq and I was shocked to find it beats the Prius in pretty much every category. Also, I know you don't like hybrids but I thought since the Prius is made by Toyota that even though it is a hybrid it could still be a good car.
In terms of reliability and longevity, the Prius is a proven platform. That’s one area the Hyundai Ioniq falls short of compared to the Prius. Between those two, you made the right choice getting the Prius. It should get you to at least 150,000-200,000 miles with minimal fuss.
Well I’m sure the Ioniq also beats the Prius in the likelihood of a fire risk, too. Not to mention, rodents chewing on its soy based wiring.

The Hyundai Ioniq gets 59 mpg and the Prius only gets 54 mpg. Also, the Ioniq has more horsepower 139 horsepower vs 121 horsepower. The Ioniq costs less and the hybrid battery has a lifetime warranty vs the Prius battery having a 10 year / 150,000 mile warranty.
I only have 97 miles on the Prius now but I really love it! It feels really hi tech.
