I love the cheap crappy plastic valve cover. AMC tried that with the 258 inline six in the 1980s and it was an epic fail, they all warped and leaked. (Fortunately unlike Hyundai/Kia the rest of the engine was pretty much bulletproof.)
The plastic valve cover is bad but that plastic thermostat housing and cooling system assembly is just jaw-dropping awful. Whoever designed that abomination needs to be flogged.
