Hay Scotty,
I have a 2015 Kia Soul Brown that has 125,500 miles with an automatic transmission. My question is how often should I change the timing belt? My grandfather recommended every 70k miles because when he had the kia, he changed it when it was 70k and also changed the transmission fluid? Also, do I need to get it at the dealership?

No, you don't need to buy the timing belt at the dealer. Just use an OEM belt. KIA doesn't make the belts the dealers use.
