Is there any idiot proof guide on how to fix my clear coat that's been damaged by the sun? I have never done a paint job before and I really hate to see my clear coat is peeling off. It's a good car and I'd love not to get rid of it. I got a quote from my local paint shop and they gave me a quote of $1700 AUD and I definitely cannot afford it.

The only way to fix it is to strip the panel(s) with the failing clearcoat and repaint. Unless you have a paint booth set up in your garage (I know guys that do) you need a professional to do this.

Clear coats are generally only professionally applied, color sanded and buffed.
