1998 Pontiac Bonneville SSE 134,000 miles, automatic transmission, 3800 series 2 engine. How to keep the crankshaft pulley from moving when tightening the crankshaft bolt? Any tips or tricks will be appreciated. Thank you

neat trick
I am not so sure about the Pontiac Bonneville. But maybe this info may help or spark an idea.
For a 1999 Honda Accord. I can't remember if it was the crankshaft or the balancing shaft. But the guidebook said to stick a long bolt in a secret port to hold the shaft in place. Perhaps there is a secret port to hold the shaft on the Bonneville?
Thank you for your answer. I don't seem to have a secret port. Just an FYI the crankshaft pulley and the harmonic balancer are one and the same.
One way is if there is an access plate under your trans - remove it and wedge a scew driver in there between the case and the flywheel teeth.
Another is to thread two long bolts into the harmonic balancer and use a bar inbeteeen the two bolts to hold. NOW the longer the bolt the higher the risk of them bending however.
Generally if your close to the torque setting we can finish it off with a air power tool...just a couple of bursts and your done but looks like there is NO ROOM for that!
Thank you for your response I'll give that a try!
