Scotty,
I have a 2020 Subaru Forester and I want to rotate it's tires, do I put the entire vehicle up on 4, 3 ton jack stands and then rotate the tires, or how else would I do it?

Simple, use your spare to help.
- make a diagram of which tire goes where - copy it from car’s owner manual
- park a car on flat surface, leave enough room around for you to work safely
- pick a corner, … say, left front, block right rear wheel with blocks
- loosen lug nuts on left front, leave them just snug - you won’t be able to take them off when tire is off the ground!
- lift left front corner with a car jack clear off the ground, remove lug nuts, take a wheel off
- replace it with your temporary spare, snug whee nuts, lower the car
- inspect the just taken off wheel, clean it, inspect it - tire tread, sidewall, rim, roll it to the corner where you want to place it next, … say left rear.
- remove the left rear wheel - same procedure as you just removed left front [remember to move the blocks, though, move them to right front, first]
- install earlier cleaned and inspected wheel, snug lug nuts, lower the car, tighten the lug nuts to proper torque
- clean and inspect just taken off wheel, roll it to, … say, right front, …
… by now, I’m assuming that you can proceed on your own, … figure it out how to complete the job, … ending by removing the spare, replacing it with a wheel, … and storing it safely back in the spare tire well. Good luck, …
Best,
F.S.
P.S.: … make sure you check tightness of all lug nuts one more time at the very end of your job. Perhaps, … even check tightness one more time, after you drive your car for a day? This is highly recommended!
swap two wheels at a time.
Raise up front end, put on stands, raise up rear end, put on stands, then rotate.
All tires used on a Subaru must be the same size. Tires of different depth levels cause problems with the all wheel drive system.
Most new vehicles either have a temporary use only spare or no spare at all.
There are some tires that are directional...they are marked on the sidewall. Anything other than left front to left rear, etc is wrong.
Follow the rotation pattern in the owners manual.
