Hyundai doesn't like to eat

Scotty, like your new digs.  I have a 2009 Hyundai Accent 1.6L that normally starts quickly but if I open the fuel filler cap it takes 20 to 30 seconds before it starts and may stall if I let the rpms drop, after a mile or two it's fine. What do you think?

The fuel filler cap not only help reduce gas fumes from leaking out, but helps to pressurize the tank when the low volume fuel pump in the gas tank turns on to prime the car. When the tank is pressurized and the car is started, it helps push and keep the fuel in the lines to the engine requiring less work by the fuel pump. I would suggest checking the fuel pump and or fuel filter first.  The fuel filter can be more accessible and cheaper to swap out to check first as an FYI.
