So I got a 2010 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 with about 154,000 miles. I got a check engine light and the codes were p0496 and p0497. Now those got something to do with the purge system. So i replace the purge solenoid and gas cap. The light went a way for 2 days and it came back with the same thing. But its something to do with gas as when i fill up the car barely starts at the gas station.
Well those evap systems are relatively complex and without a dealer level scan tool and bi-directional testing you just pissung on the wind trying to figure out what's wrong. Often a bad evap canister vent all to do that but it's just absolute guessing though on the bright side it's just a stupid anti-pollution thing if it runs okay I've seen people drive them years that way with no other problems other than the stupid code
